We visited Bali for 8 days last year in the month of January. We stayed at Seminyak, the beautiful beach resort area in South Bali. We three, me, my husband and my 12 year old son, stayed in a two bedroom pool villa which i found on AirBnb and rented a car to travel around the island.

Bali is a paradise for foodies! Every cuisine, fast food, local food, street food is available at almost every corner of Bali.
During our stay sometimes we cooked our breakfast, ate at restaurants, famous beach bars and even at McDonalds, KFC, Cold Stone. Bali has places to eat for every traveller as per their budget.

In my blog, i will take you through the places where we ate during our trip.
Bintang Super Market, Seminyak, Bali
We stocked our villa’s refrigerator with eggs, butter, bread, juices, instant noodles, fruits, bacon, sausages, ice cream, chocolates, lombok coffee, wines and beer from Bintang Super Market located at Jl. Raya Seminyak, Seminyak, Bali which was just 200 meters from our Villa on our first day.
We cooked our breakfast at least four times during our stay, had instant noodles in middle of the night or in the evening, had tea and coffee twice a day. The supermarket and cooking ourselves really saved us a lot! Before stepping out for dinner or late night at the pool we used to have a couple of drinks in our pretty villa too!

Places to Eat in Seminyak, Bali
We had our maximum meals at Seminyak as it was our base in Bali. As soon as we reached we got a hot and fresh thin crust pepperoni pizza delivered to us from Italian Corner Bali which was just opposite our villa.
On our first evening we went to La Plancha located on the Seminyak beach. La Plancha has comfortable bean bags on the sand under the colourful umbrellas. The place is perfect for sunsets coupled with drinks and appetisers. We had cheese and bacon topped potato wedges and chicken wings here.

On our second night after a day full of sightseeing we had late dinner at The Jaya Pub Bali. We selected the place while roaming on the main street because they had live music at 1100 in the night, a pool table and locals. We had beer, margarita, prawn cocktail, spaghetti Alfredo, beef steak and fish n rice. It was quite reasonable and we enjoyed our time here.
On our fourth night at Seminyak we were quite late again and almost every place was closed for dinner. We had a couple of drinks at Moonlite, Bali. We missed the food here but the rooftop bar is totally worth a visit for the beautiful view! We ate our dinner at Chiringuito which is located on the beach just next to Moonlite Kitchen and Bar. We had local drink Arak here, which was really good. We only liked the Beef curry with steamed rice here! The chicken burger and mee goreng was quite average.
Tip: For a great dinner at Seminyak be at a restaurant by 9pm or 10 pm max!
On the fifth night we went to Ku de ta, Bali for dinner. The place is a must visit! Its a beautiful property in front of the beach with great food, drinks and music. Sunsets and parties are quite famous here. It is at a higher end though. We had our drinks and most amazing thin crust pizza here.

On the sixth night we went to a cool place called Char Char Bar & Grill located on the happening street Jl. Kayu Aya, Seminyak, Bali. It has sitting on huge stairs just next to the road and we loved having our drinks here. For our meal we moved to the dining area and had some delicious Duck noodles and Flat noodles. They have a open kitchen and food is really good here.

On the last night we danced like crazy on the live band at Santa Fe Bar & Grill at Jl. Camplung Tanduk, Seminyak, Bali. We had drinks from their happy hour menu and some bruschetta and desserts as we were already full because we ate a bucket full of KFC chicken in the evening. The best part of Santa Fe Bar & Grill is they are open till late!
Across the Island, Bali
Klapa Beach Club, Dreamland Beach, Bali

On the way to Uluwatu Temple we stopped at the most beautiful beach of our trip, the Dreamland beach. Klapa Resort is located here and we paid the cover charge and enjoyed the beach and lunch here. We had Mee Goreng, Chicken Burger and Hot Dog with our Bintang here. Perfect place for spending your day.
Ganesha Cafe, Jimbaran Beach, Bali

After spending the beautiful day with Bali Hai Cruise which included our breakfast and lunch, we had our dinner at the famous Pantai Jimbaran. Jimbaran Beach is famous for fresh seafood and barbecue. They have candle lit tables on the sand and every restaurant is busy here. We choose fresh tiger prawns and whole fish which was barbecued and made local Balinese style. It came with rice, veggies and many dips. A must try!
Babi Guling/ Lawar with Pig Roast
All across Bali you will see Babi Guling which is a whole roasted pig. There are many Warungs (small family run restaurants) in Bali who serve Babi Guling or Lawar. Lawar is a dish which has rice, roasted pig, satay, veggies, broth, crisps and is famous all over Bali for quick lunch with the locals. We stopped at a small warung and had Lawar for our lunch on our way back from Pura Ulun Danu Bratan (the famous temple on the lake).

The Pirates Bay, Nusa Dua, Bali

Nusa Dua has some most expensive and elite resorts in Bali. The beach is perfect for swimming and is a great place to spend a day with family. There are many restaurants and beach shacks all over Nusa Dua. We spent our day at The Pirates Bay because the seating was spread on the trees and my son totally loved it. We had our drinks and delicious spaghetti carbonara, stuffed chicken with mashed potatoes, salad and black pepper sauce and prawn curry with steamed rice. Our little tree house was exclusive to us!

The Lookout, Kintamani, Bali

The day we went to Penglipuran Village, Bamboo forest, Mount Batur, Ubud, Tegallalang Rice Terrace we had our lunch at The Lookout which faces Mount Batur. It is a must visit for the view. We had the local drink Arak with prawn spring rolls, mei goreng, local dish which had rice, beans local fish fillets, corn fritters, shrimp chips and fried prawns on the side. The food was nice and simple but the view is totally worth it.

Bali has so much to offer that one visit does not do justice to the beautiful island. We covered a lot in eight days. We even visited Waterbom Bali where we had thrilling water rides and yummy lunch. We stopped at Kuta Beach for sunset and had beer sitting on the plastic chair at one of the many small vendors on the Kuta beach.
