Easy and Quick Homemade Mushroom Sandwich

I love mushrooms and long time back i had a similar mushroom sandwich in US and tried making it home. After a couple of attempts it came out good!

My family loves it and once in a while we have them for breakfast or even for dinner with soup.

It is super easy to make and takes only few minutes.

Ingredients:

Multigrain Bread

Mushrooms: One pack

Onions: Two medium

Olive Oil/ Cooking Oil:  One table spoon

Mayonnaise: Two tablespoons

Pizza Sauce (optional): One spoon

Black Pepper, Salt, Chilli Flakes and Oregano: As per your taste (I just sprinkle everything)

Tip: Keep the salt low as mushrooms soaks it very fast.

Method

Slice the mushrooms and onions. I don’t slice them too thin else they will loose their body.

In a nonstick pan or a wok pour oil and let it heat for sometime. Now add sliced onions and saute them till they are translucent.

Add sliced mushrooms to the onions and saute till the mushrooms are almost done and the water from the mushrooms is evaporated. This will not take more than 5-7 mins.

Now add your seasoning. Salt, pepper, chilli flakes and oregano.

Mix well and let it cook for a minute more. Add a spoon of pizza sauce if you like at this stage.

Turn off the flame and pour the mix in a bowl and let it cool for a couple of minutes.

Now add the mayonnaise. It will look like a spread. (You can even store this for later use)

Spread your mix on a pan toasted with butter bread slices and Serve!
