Malviya Nagar has recently become hub of food joints, delivery restaurants and street food. The location of Malviya Nagar makes it home to many. The place is full of working professionals living in PGs or rent and families majorly Punjabis who are here since many years. I am living in Malviya Nagar since last 12 years now and visiting since 1980s when there was just a small market with Moti Sweets where we used to have golgappas.
In my post i will take you through my favourite places to eat in Malviya Nagar.
Nikashee, Malviya Nagar, South Delhi
Nikashee has been there since many many years now. They changed the location few years back and now have a nice dining area as well. Nikashee serves you comfort Chinese food we have been grown up eating in India. They have quite a waiting on weekends but the service is quick! Their portion sizes are also a lot! One dish of noodles will be good for three. We mostly get the food delivered. My Favourites here: Chicken Steamed Momos, Talumein soup, Nikashee special soup and drums of heaven. Price: Three of us have our food for INR 600-700 which includes soup, momos, noodles and chicken main
Kebab Gali, Malviya Nagar
Kebab Gali opened few years back at the corner market near chic fish. It serves one of the best North Indian food. They have some delicious appetizers and curries. My favourites here are Dahi Kebab, Sekhampuri Kebab, stuffed mushrooms, Chicken gilafi kebab, chicken lahsooni tikka in the appetisers and Dal Makhni, Murg lazeez handi, martaban paneer and nihari mutton in the mains. They have quite nice seating area and they deliver too! Price: INR 800- 1000 for a nice three course meal
Flavours of Chennai, Malviya Nagar, South Delhi
As the name suggest this place serves delicious south indian food. It is located in the corner market and has nice and clean seating. The service is super quick and they have great breakfast deals. They also have south indian thali other than Idli, dosa and uttapam. I loved their Paneer onion rava dosa and breakfast combo which we order many times at home on the weekends. But i prefer having my dosa there at the restaurant as i like it crisp and hot!
Moti Sweets, Malviya Nagar, South Delhi
Moti sweets and bakers have been there since many many years in the Malviya Nagar Market. Every home in Malviya Nagar gets their dose of sugar from them. I have tried many things here over few years and love their Peda, Moong dal halwa and Rasmalai. My son is crazy for their jalebi too. Other than sweets they also have a huge variety of namkeen. The prices are cheaper than Haldiram but expensive than your local sweet shop. The quality is excellent.
Rimpy’s , Malviya Nagar, South Delhi
Rimpy’s is again a very old restaurant in Malviya Nagar. They have north indian food in the menu and is always crowded during weekends. I have ordered many times from here and time and again i keep ordering their Tandoori Chicken. Their tandoori chicken is juicy, nicely marinated, spicy and beautifully roasted. And it is not red in color! It comes with delicious chutney and sirka onions.
Prem Momos, Malviya Nagar, South Delhi
He is quite a famous guy in Malviya Nagar! The dirt cheap Paneer Momos and Chicken Momos are everyone’s favourite here. I know people who specially visits Malviya Nagar to have them. He gives 12 pieces of chicken momos for just INR 60. The station is placed at the entry of the famous Malviya Nagar sabji market.
Shriram Chaat Corner, Malviya Nagar
Shriram Chaat corner located on the main malviya nagar market road next to W serves one of the best golgappe/ panipuri in town. The water is delicious! I always have to wait for my turn here. In the evenings they are packed! They also have great bhalla papdi chaat, aloo tikki and pao bhaji. But nothing beats their golgappas. You can get 5 pcs for INR 30.
Mystical Bundle, Malviya Nagar, South Delhi
Mystical Bundle opened last year and serves some of the most delicious desserts and cake. We have Open oven, Batra, Moti and Prakash Bakers in Malviya Nagar Market and Cakes & Bakes, Pudding & Pie on the Shivalik road but never had such great cakes as the ones prepared by Mystical Bundle. Before that my cakes used to be from outside our area but Mystical Bundle has solved that problem too! My favourite here are red velvet and banoffie pie cake jars. German Chocolate cake and Nutella Chocolate cup cake.
Rice and Spice Biryani, Malviya Nagar, South Delhi
Rice and spice is a new kid on the block and has some kick ass biryani. My most favourite from their menu is the Hyderabadi gosht/mutton Biryani. It is perfectly made with tender pieces of mutton and delicious masala. It comes with raita and salan. They also have delicious gajar ka halwa and phirni. There are many Biryani deliveries in Malviya Nagar but Rice and Spice beats all of them.
Street Food, Malviya Nagar, South Delhi
Malviya Nagar main market is now home to delicous Shawarma roll, moong dal laddu and tandoori momos. All located near the corner of the sabji market. The corner is always buzzing with people.
Next to the Ramsons there is a famous Juice Corner which serves fresh juices and shakes. I love their Carrot Juice and Sugarcane Juice.
Restaurant Chains, Malviya Nagar
If one is looking for famous chains then Malviya Nagar has that as well. It has Gopala, Pizza Hut Delivery, Dominos, Dunkin Donuts, Gianis, Subway, Wow Momos, Nazeer and many more!
So when do you plan to explore this food mecca in South Delhi?
So happy to see Nikashee’s momos and Kebab Gali ‘s curries on this list. My favorite food. 🙂
Yes..we all are in love with those momos!
